Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham could be on after a big Man United twist claims Sky Sports transfer reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

West Ham and Manchester United have been busy signing exciting Brazil internationals.

Man United have signed Antony from Ajax while West Ham yesterday completed the club record signing of his Brazil teammate Lucas Paqueta from Lyon.

Paqueta was former Man United boss David Moyes’ eighth signing of the summer and takes West Ham’s spending close to the £180m mark this summer.

But no sooner had the ink dried on Paqueta’s West Ham contract than David Moyes was looking to his old club Man United for signing number nine.

On the face of it, West Ham seem well stocked in the right-back area with Vladimir Coufal, Ben Johnson and young Harrison Ashby.

But there are question marks over Coufal’s form after he turned 30 last week, Johnson has proved to be somewhat injury-prone and Ashby is being linked with a move to Newcastle among others.

The Hammers have approached the Red Devils for fullback Aaron Wan-Bissaka according to reports.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein confirmed West Ham’s move for Manchester United outcast Wan-Bissaka.

Ornstein said Man United have rejected approaches from West Ham and Wan-Bissaka’s old club Crystal Palace for the defender.

But Wan-Bissaka to West Ham could be on after a big Man United twist claims Dharmesh Sheth.

Because new Man United boss Erik ten Hag has launched a move for Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest and are confident of getting it done.

If the Red Devils do manage to bring the Dutch-born USA star to Old Trafford for a reunion with his old Ajax boss then – Sheth claims – they will be open to letting Wan-Bissaka join West Ham.

“Manchester United exploring the possibility of late deal for Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest,” Sheth said on Twitter and Sky Sports.

“If they can secure a move, they will allow Aaron Wan-Bissaka to leave – West Ham United and Crystal Palace interested.

“Dest played under Erk ten Hag at Ajax.”

Some West Ham fans have questioned the wisdom of potentially letting a promising young academy graduate like Ashby leave to replace him with Wan-Bissaka.

But the Man United right-back was at one stage an England player so he could be an inspired signing if Moyes can get him back to his best.

We won’t have to wait long to find out, the window closes at 11pm on Thursday.
