Rice drove West Ham to their win, playing a nice pass to Pablo Fornals for the winning goal.
The Hammers talisman has become one of the most universally liked characters in the Premier League with his attitude and enthusiasm as well as his excellent performances for club and country.
And it seems he can now add the Aston Villa faithful to his own growing list of admirers.

Villa fans took to social media and forums after the game to highlight that Rice once again made a beeline for their famous Holte End after West Ham’s win.
Not to goad or antagonise the home support but rather to applaud them.
Aston Villa fans were full of praise for Rice and his actions, taking to social media to praise him as a ‘classy player and man’.
Some Aston Villa supporters asked why Rice always applauds the Holte End and West Ham fans explained it was because he respects fans and their importance to the game.
It was also explained that Rice would be full of respect for Villa as an historic club who – like West Ham – sell out despite not enjoying the success of some of their rivals.
A good example was Rice being caught on camera excitedly praising the atmosphere at Nottingham Forest to their captain Joe Worrall before kick off ahead of their recent win over West Ham.
Villa may be sick of the sight of West Ham as they continue to struggle to beat the Hammers.
But Rice seems assured of a good reception whenever he goes back to Villa Park in the future.
