Niclas Fullkrug seems to be closing in on a move to West Ham United from German giants Borussia Dortmund.
West Ham are deep in talks to bring Niclas Fullkrug to the London Stadium this summer, although his wages and the structure of the deal still need to be ironed out.
Niclas Fullkrug was in fine form for Borussia Dortmund last summer, and racked up 15 goals and 10 assists in 43 appearances in all competitions.
He is an old school, target man type striker who has proven himself at every level, and has really impressed with the German national team as well.
I’m not fully on board with this transfer but I’m not against it either. The bottom line is that Fullkrug is better than Michail Antonio and Danny Ings…by a long way.

The German powerhouse playing in front of Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus, Lucas Paqueta and perhaps Crysencio Summerville as well is a hugely exciting prospect.
There won’t be a single Premier League defender relishing the idea of playing against the 31-year-old, that’s for sure.
But what happens if we can’t agree on a fee with Dortmund for Fullkrug?
West Ham eye Niclas Fullkrug alternative
So if a deal for the Germany international fails to go through, the Hammers have another option lined up it seems.
And he will be a very familiar face indeed for fans of Premier League football.
According to a report from Sky Sports Italy, West Ham are keen to bring Tammy Abraham back to the Premier League this summer.
However, there’s a big problem – the 26-year-old wants to join Italian giants AC Milan instead.
The London-born centre-forward left Chelsea to join Roma back in the summer of 2021, after West Ham had been heavily linked with signing him.
Abraham is a top striker, and has bagged an impressive 130 goals in in 339 career appearances for club and country.
He has been described as ‘incredible’ by Goal, and they’re not wrong.

The ex-Chelsea front-man is proven at the very highest level, and is said to be available for a decent price this summer.
However, there is more to it than meets the eye. I actually think that missing out on Abraham could be a good thing for the Hammers.
The English hitman has missed 301 days of football since rupturing his ACL when playing for Roma back in 2023.
ACL injuries are notoriously difficult to come back from, especially when players are in their mid-twenties.
In my opinion, missing out on Abraham is not the end of the world, far from it in fact.
Despite the fact that Niclas Fullkrug is 31, I still think he’ll be able to do a good job for West Ham, for one or two seasons at least.
