West Ham have just dropped a major hint that Kurt Zouma will be sold after video of new kit release

The West Ham United new kit release was an eagerly anticipated one, after images of the splendid looking attire were doing the rounds earlier this week.

Umbro – the kit manufacturers for West Ham – have performed fairly averagely over the past few years when it comes to designing the uniforms for the players.

However, the new kit that was officially released this morning went against the grain – it is a thing of absolute, unadulterated beauty.

It’s about time right? The new home kit for the 2024/25 season pays homage to our 1960’s golden era, and is a nod to the likes of Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters who all wore it with so much pride.

Let’s hope that the new generation of players are inspired to succeed on the pitch just like the group from 60 years ago were.

Julen Lopetegui could be set to oversee a tremendously exciting era of success at the London Stadium over the next decade or so.

In order to do that though, he will not only need to buy top-class players, but move some on as well.

Up to 12 Hammers are being linked with the exit door this summer, and two have already left in the form of Said Benrahma and Ben Johnson.

And Kurt Zouma is seemingly someone who definitely could be sent packing this summer…

West Ham hint that Zouma will be sold after new kit release video

The Hammers fans would have flocked to the club’s social media channels this morning to see the first official glimpse of the new kit.

The kit looked magnificent, unsurprisingly – one of the best offerings we’ve had over the past decade in my opinion.

However, the video released this morning had one very notable omission – Kurt Zouma.

It was recently claimed that the 29-year-old could be sold this summer, after regressing badly from a physical perspective.

Last season, it seemed like a real struggle for the experienced Frenchman to walk around the pitch, let alone run.

And Zouma leaving the club now looks more likely than ever.

The new West Ham kit was released via a video on the club’s official X account:

In any new kit release video, the club captain is always front and centre wearing the club’s colours.

That obviously wasn’t the case this time around though.

Zouma was signed from Chelsea in the summer of 2021 for around £30 million, and he has gone on to be an incredible player for us…up until last season at least.

The Frenchman has deteriorated physically, with his knees proving to be a big problem.

Zouma missed 12 games for us in the 2022/23 season through injury (Transfermarkt), yet David Moyes still decided to name him as the new club captain back in August – a decision that was utterly baffling at the time.

It’s clear to see that the Frenchman isn’t the player he once was, and there is no way he should be the Hammers club captain.

I truly believe that Lopetegui agrees with that notion.

His omission from the new West Ham kit release video proves to me that he’ll be off this summer.
