West Ham have received another absolutely huge Xabi Alonso boost as the alleged Tim Steidten succession plan starts to look attainable.
Although no official decision has been made as yet, recent reports suggest David Moyes and West Ham will part ways when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Hammers News spoke to the top source inside West Ham about Moyes’ situation recently. And the contact emphatically denied Moyes will be sacked labelling such talk ‘rubbish’.
But that does not change the fact the Scot is in the last year of his Hammers contract and speculation abounds it will not be renewed.
Technical director Tim Steidten has been a huge hit since joining West Ham in the summer. And he is already reportedly assessing replacements.

West Ham get another absolutely huge Alonso boost
One manager we know it won’t be is Reims’ Hammers fanatic boss Will Still. That has been ruled out – anytime in the near future at least – by David Sullivan himself.
It was claimed by a source inside West Ham last month that Steidten’s appointment could see the German help West Ham replace Moyes with Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso in the summer.
West Ham have been heavily linked with Alonso since the German’s arrival at West Ham – as reported here on Hammers News.
We also reported that West Ham will have to pay a £13m get out clause to bring the man Steidten appointed at Leverkusen to east London.
Many Hammers fans have been excited at the prospect of appointing a young, progressive, modern, attack-minded albeit somewhat inexperienced coach like Alonso.
Especially after his side played West Ham off the park in a thumping pre-season win. And Alonso’s undefeated side currently top the Bundesliga table with 10 wins from their opening 11 games, playing scintillating football in the process.
West Ham’s alleged Moyes succession plan had a big problem, though. It has been suggested Alonso’s buy out clause is specifically designed for one of his three former clubs – Real Madrid, Bayern Munich or Liverpool.

Three big problems solved for Hammers?
Football Transfers recently hinted that Alonso’s rumoured next destination will be Real Madrid to replace Carlo Ancelotti should he leave in the summer.
But as reported on Hammers News this week, Real Madrid are now said to be in talks with Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi to succeed fellow Italian Ancelotti at the Bernabeu.
Jurgen Klopp has a contract at Liverpool until 2026 and is currently leading an impressive rebuild at Anfield.
Two down, one to go for the Hammers?
Well last night saw West Ham get another absolutely huge Alonso boost as the Steidten succession plan starts to look attainable.
Because according to news emerging from Germany, Alonso will not be joining Bayern Munich either.

Steidten succession plan starting to look attainable
Last week we reported on Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel – who was linked with West Ham after being sacked by Chelsea – storming out of a live TV interview after hearing Alonso being praised and touted for his job.
But the German giants are said to be fully supportive of Tuchel and claims Bayern were lining up Alonso have been described as ‘very wide of the mark’.
“Xabi Alonso is not joining Bayern Munich next season,” it is reported.
“Bayern have never contacted Alonso so a contract between the club and Alonso is ‘very wide of the mark’. They still trust in Tuchel as the right manager and are going to continue with him.”
That is obviously great news for West Ham’s reported hopes of luring Alonso to London.
Moyes has done an absolutely remarkable job at West Ham. But the feeling is that in order to progress any further, the Hammers must change their style an approach in a league full of Pep Guardiola disciples.
If Steidten can pull it off, he looks and feels very much like the ideal change of direction many Hammers fans crave.
