There is some potentially bad news for West Ham ahead of our game vs Newcastle tomorrow night.

The West Ham vs Newcastle clash is a highly anticipated one, and both teams desperately need a win, but for very different reasons.

David Moyes needs all three points in order to ease the pressure on him at the London Stadium. His Hammers side are currently sitting just one point clear of the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are in a great position to finish inside the top four, and a win at the London Stadium tomorrow would set them up perfectly to do just that.

I firmly believe that if we are at our very best, we can beat the Magpies.

However, there is some very bad news for the Hammers ahead of the game…

West Ham vs Newcastle: VAR official named

The official Premier League website has named Craig Pawson as the referee for the West Ham vs Newcastle game tomorrow night. That’s not too bad in itself.

But it’s the official on VAR duty who Hammers fans will remember very well indeed.

Chris Kavanagh will be at Stockley Park running his eye over the game at the London Stadium tomorrow night.

Kavanagh infamously sent-off Fabian Balbuena during our defeat to Chelsea at the London Stadium a couple of years ago. It was a truly horrendous decision.

Balbuena kicked the ball and caught a Chelsea player on his follow through:

Now it was VAR who told Kavanagh to check the incident on the screens but it was still him who made the final decision.

It’s never nice when there is someone officiating one of our games with previous for giving horrendous decisions against us.

Let’s hope that we don’t even notice him during the game tomorrow night.

The West Ham vs Newcastle clash should be an enthralling one. Hopefully Kavanagh remains anonymous.
