West Ham co-owner Daniel Kretinsky has hit the headlines for entering the referee’s dressing room during the half-time break of a Sparta Prague game.
Daniel Kretinsky completed his acquisition of 27% shares of West Ham United football club at the end of 2021.
£15 million problem: Four things we learned from West Ham vs Southampton borefest
The Czech billionaire is co-owner of West Ham alongside David Sullivan.

Kretinsky recently doubled his net worth to a whopping £7.5 billion according to Forbes.
The 47-year-old is a billionaire businessman and lawyer, who is the chief executive officer and 94% owner of Energetický a průmyslový holding, the largest energy group in Central Europe, co-owner and president of football club Sparta Prague.
Kretinsky has always taken a hands on approach to his ownership at Sparta Prague, and has been involved in numerous controversies before.
He once incurred the wrath of former Hammer Tomas Repka by ‘treating him unfairly’.
And his bizarre actions during Sparta’s comfortable 3-1 win over Brno yesterday has hit the headlines in his homeland…
West Ham co-owner Daniel Kretinsky reportedly entered ref’s dressing room
Czech football Twitter account ‘Czech Football‘ accused Kretinsky of ‘acting like a blatant idiot’ by entering the referee’s dressing room at half-time yesterday.
And the Hammers co-owner’s behaviour was noted in the referee’s official report from the match:
This is obviously not acceptable behaviour from anyone, let alone an owner of a football club.
The disciplinary code in the Czech Republic states that anyone who enters the referee’s dressing room is liable to face a three month ban and a fine of around €2,000 (Czech Football).
Daniel Kretinsky is clearly a passionate man when it comes to football, but he will learn the hard way if he ever tries to do that during a West Ham game.
Referees need more protection from top to bottom in the game, and people like Kretinsky behaving in that manner is quite simply unacceptable, whatever way you try to spin it.
