The West Ham United fans will be absolutely amazed by a photo of Lucas Paqueta from way back in September.

West Ham paid a club record £51 million to sign Lucas Paqueta from Lyon in the summer of 2022.

However, the undoubtedly talented Brazilian struggled to make much of an impact initially for the Hammers at the London Stadium.

And the 25-year-old recently admitted that he found it hard to adapt to the physical and intense nature of Premier League football.

It must be said though, Paqueta has really started to show what he is capable of in recent weeks. It seems like we’ve got a real player on our hands.

But what is the main reason for the South American’s recent resurgence?

In my opinion, the 25-year-old has improved since he bulked up and became more fit for purpose in the Premier League.

He seems to have done this without us really noticing – we watch him play twice a week after all.

But here’s the evidence of just how much he has filled out. Compare the below Instagram picture that he posted back in September to the photo below that from Sunday’s win over Bournemouth:

Paqueta looks like a different man.

He must have put on some weight – he certainly has built up his upper body with muscle, and the results are there for all to see.

Lucas Paqueta will undoubtedly go on to become a West Ham legend, I have every faith that that will be the case.

And his hard work since moving to East London has really paid off.
