West Ham United are still trying their best to make this summer transfer window a 10/10.
Let’s be honest, it has already been a 9/10 transfer window for West Ham, but moving on two or three fringe squad members and signing one or two more top-class players would turn it into a perfect one.
Julen Lopetegui has overseen a fabulous transfer window so far at West Ham, but the Spaniard is far from finished, and has admitted himself that he wants more.
It has already been well-documented that the Hammers head coach needs to move on some of the fringe players first, in order to make more signings.
If he manages to do just that, we can expect one or two more new arrivals before the transfer window slams shut.
Whilst the signing of Carlos Soler is an absolute must, it could be argued that the addition of a new centre-forward is a necessity as well.
And it seems like Lopetegui may well be on board with that notion as well.
West Ham eye last-gasp striker move before 11pm Friday deadline
Lopetegui is clearly not content with his current centre-forward options at the London Stadium.
According to a report from Give Me Sport, West Ham are still trying to sign Jhon Duran from Aston Villa before tomorrow’s 11pm deadline.

Jhon Duran has been firmly on the West Ham radar since the start of the summer transfer window.
Now, if the Hammers are somehow successful in getting a deal for the 20-year-old striker over the line, it would be a huge statement from the club.
We are crying out for more pace through the middle right now, and Duran could well be the answer.
So if the Hammers do manage to sign the Colombian starlet, would he be a good fit for us?
Jhon Duran would be unreal for West Ham
It looked for all the world that he would be leaving Villa to link up with the Hammers earlier on in the window, especially after he did the crossed Hammers sign during a live stream.
And now, that move may well become reality.
Duran would add so much to our front-line, what with his blistering pace, incredible movement and unpredictable playing style.
He’s the polar opposite to Niclas Fullkrug in the sense that he always plays off the shoulder of the last defender, and we all saw just how dangerous he can be during our clash with Villa on the opening day of the season.
West Ham signing Jhon Duran before tomorrow’s 11pm deadline would be a sensational move from Lopetegui, Tim Steidten and co.
However, whether the Hammers are able to move on some of the exit-linked players first in order to make a swoop for Duran possible remains to be seen.
