A shock claim has been made about Jose Mourinho potentially taking over from David Moyes as West Ham United manager.
Jose Mourinho is all set to leave Roma at the end of this season, and he apparently could replace David Moyes in the West Ham hot-seat.

That’s according to claims from Football Insider, who suggest that it still not has been decided whether Moyes will be handed a new deal by the Hammers owners.
It’s not the first time that Mourinho, 60, has been linked with the West Ham manager’s job – the Hammers owners were eyeing him up to replace Moyes when we were in all sorts of trouble in the Premier League six months ago.
However, the Scot, also 60, turned things around at the London Stadium, keeping West Ham in the top flight and guiding us to our first major trophy triumph since 1980!
Now though, the box office Portuguese manager is seemingly back on the East London outfit’s radar…

West Ham are eyeing manager who’s absolutely box office to replace David Moyes
Moyes is out of contract at the end of the season and as things stand, there are no immediate plans in place to offer him a new deal.
As a result, Football Insider claim that the Hammers board are keeping a close eye on Mourinho, with the former Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Porto boss set to walk away from Roma in seven month’s time.
Bringing in the Portuguese manager to replace the Scot would be a major power play from the West Ham owners.
Sure, the 60-year-old isn’t quite at the same level as he once was, and his reputation has certainly diminished over the past few years.
However, he is still absolutely box office, and would bring real excitement and genuine ambition to the London Stadium.
Jose Mourinho has won all there is to win in the game including eight league titles (three of which came in the Premier League) and two Champions League crowns.
The system that he deploys is definitely more defensive thank attacking, but trust me, it’s a whole world away from Moyes’s setup.
His Roma team have averaged 55.9% possession this season – the joint third highest in Serie A (Fbref), whilst Moyes’s West Ham have averaged just 38.3% – the second lowest in the Premier League behind only Luton Town (Fbref).
Mourinho has become a far more attacking manager than he was in the past, and I believe he’d definitely get the best out of the current crop of players at the London Stadium.
All that remains to be seen is whether David Moyes is still manager of West Ham after the end of this season.
