West Ham United are reportedly eyeing a hugely ambitious move to sign 23-year-old right-back in the January window.
The January transfer window is a vitally important one for West Ham United boss David Moyes, with numerous additions needed.
And a recent report claimed that the Hammers boss is on the hunt for a new right-back, with Vladimir Coufal unhappy with life at the London Stadium after the club refused to hand him an improved contract.
Now West Ham could be set to make a hugely ambitious swoop for Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong, according to a report from Football Insider.
I’m sorry, but I just can’t see this one happening, not least due to the fact that Liverpool want to sign him as well.
However, Football Insider are adamant that the Hammers are trying to complete a deal for the Holland international this month…

West Ham eyeing ambitious move to sign right-back in January
Frimpong is an absolutely sensational right-back – one of the very best on the continent in my opinion.
The former Celtic star possesses blistering pace, is a tenacious tackler and is a really dangerous threat going forward as well.
In 17 Bundesliga appearances for Leverkusen so far this season, the 23-year-old has bagged an incredible five goals and six assists.
During those outings, he has averaged 1.9 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per game (Who Scored).
Those numbers give us an idea of just how much of an attacking full-back he is. He is the modern day attacking right-back in every sense.
Frimpong is actually the player that the Hammers are crying out for, and that’s not to say that Coufal hasn’t been good this year, because he has been.
The Dutchman would just be a huge upgrade on the Czech Republic international. And if West Ham sign the Leverkusen right-back in January, we’ll be in seriously good shape going forward. However, I just can’t see it happening unfortunately, with Liverpool in the race for his signature and Leverkusen absolutely flying in the Bundesliga.
If we’re being honest, it’s probably nothing more than just a pipe dream.
