‘Undoubtedly’ David Moyes provides hugely exciting transfer update after Bristol City defeat

West Ham United manager David Moyes provided a big transfer update after last night’s awful performance against Bristol City in the FA Cup.

David Moyes would have been fuming with his West Ham players, after they were outfought and outplayed by Bristol City.

The good news is that the Hammers boss now knows that without any question, he needs to bring in some reinforcements in the January transfer window.

The fringe players at the London Stadium quite simply aren’t good enough, and Maxwel Cornet was someone who stood out for all the wrong reasons last night.

Said Benrahma, Danny Ings, Aaron Cresswell and Pablo Fornals all need to be moved on as a matter of urgency as well.

Now Moyes needs to act in the market with efficiency and authority, and he basically told reporters after the game last night that that is what he plans to do…

David Moyes provides hugely exciting transfer update

The Scot addressed the media after last night’s horror show at Ashton Gate in the FA Cup third round replay.

And Moyes responded when asked by reporters whether or not he is planning to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window, as quoted by Standard journalist Malik Ouzia:

“The truth is we will try and do some business. Undoubtedly, there’s a desire from the club to try and do something and from me and everybody there.”

That is so refreshing, and incredibly exciting to hear. Moyes usually plays talk of transfers down, but he is quite obviously under no illusion now that he needs to strengthen his ranks this month.

The Hammers boss needs to sign at least one forward and a centre-back between now and the end of the January transfer window in my opinion.

Then in the summer, he needs to bring in another central midfielder, a right-back and a left-back, and ANOTHER forward at the very least!

The thing about strengthening this month is that the West Ham boss wouldn’t then need to make such a big squad overhaul in the summer.

And judging by the latest David Moyes transfer update, he’s planning on bringing in some new faces over the course of the next two weeks. Hopefully he makes it happen.
