Mark Noble has opened up on what West Ham United manager David Moyes told him about Jarrod Bowen recently.

West Ham sporting director Mark Noble has lifted the lid on something David Moyes told him about Jarrod Bowen, when speaking on TNT Sports today.

Bowen, 27, has been in sensational form for the Hammers this season, with 12 goals and four assists to his name already, and he has received praise from some of the biggest name sin the game including the likes of Jurgen Klopp.

Signed from Hull City in January 2020, Bowen recently signed a new seven-year deal with West Ham, and has since drawn comparisons with Noble due to the fact that he could see out his career at the London Stadium.

The hard-working England international has seen his role change slightly with the Hammers this season, and has been filling in as a centre-forward during Michail Antonio’s absence.

It seems as though Moyes has had him earmarked as a striker for a while now though…

Mark Noble shares what Moyes told him about Jarrod Bowen

The Hammers sporting director was at the London Stadium today for our Premier League clash with Manchester United.

And Noble shared something that Moyes told him about Jarrod a few months back, when speaking on TNT Sports (December 23rd, 11:58am):

“The manager said to me months ago now that he sees Jarrod as a number nine and he thinks at some point he’ll move there.”

Whilst Bowen is a very useful option to have in the centre-forward role, I still believe he’s at his best when playing out wide on the right.

If Moyes does sign a top-class centre-forward at any point, I fully expect Jarrod to move back out wide, with Mohammed kudus moving into the number 10 role.

Mark Noble let it be known that David Moyes believes Jarrod Bowen will end up as a striker, but I’m not so sure.

That said, it’s good to know that he can play there if we need him to.
