Striker was set for a meeting with West Ham owner David Sullivan over a deal but his agent has intervened as Divin Mubama talks reach stalemate.

That’s according to a well placed West Ham insider with links to the Hammers’ majority owner David Sullivan.

Reports have abound that Divin Mubama is refusing to sign a new deal at West Ham having grown frustrated with his lack of opportunities under David Moyes.

West Ham fans let Moyes know how they felt about Mubama’s lack of minutes during the Carabao Cup win over Lincoln.

And they sent another message to Moyes when the Scot somewhat surprisingly brought Mubama on ahead of Michail Antonio and Danny Ings in the closing stages of the win over Olympiacos before the international break.

After Jarrod Bowen signed his bumper new seven-year deal recently, it was claimed that Sullivan was key to getting it done by holding a personal one-to-one meeting with the striker.

And there have been reports that the billionaire intended to do the same with Mubama in order to keep one of West Ham’s top young talents at the club.

The striker was set for that meeting with West Ham owner Sullivan over a deal but his agent has intervened as Mubama talks reach stalemate.

That’s according to insider Sean Whetstone, who has revealed the player’s representatives would not allow Sullivan to meet with Mubama on his own.

“There remains a stalemate in contract negotiations with Divin Mubama’s agents,” Whetstone said.

“The Newham-born centre-forward who has been at the club since he was eight has turned down a five-figure weekly wage plus a pay rise automatic rise every 10 Premier League starts together with generous appearance bonuses.

“Should he leave for free this summer West Ham could receive limited compensation of 400,000 Euros (£250k) if he goes abroad. If he stays in England the compensation will be set by a tribunal.

“Agent wouldn’t allow player to meet chairman on his own.”
