Simon Jordan has attempted to humiliate West Ham United with a dig about Harry Maguire potentially joining us from Manchester United.

West Ham boss David Moyes will undoubtedly be keen to bolster his central defensive ranks at the London Stadium this summer, the 30-year-old Manchester United ace is apparently someone who is on the Scot’s radar.

The 53-capped England international would be a great fit for West Ham United in my opinion, despite his struggles during his time with Man United at Old Trafford.

Moyes is said to be a big fan of the ex-Leicester centre-back and is making moves to bring him from Manchester to East London in the summer transfer window.

However, Simon Jordan has tried to belittle us in the extreme with his latest comments regarding that potential transfer…

The controversial football pundit was speaking about Maguire and his future at Manchester United when writing his column for the Daily Mail (print edition March 23rd, page 75).

And Jordan took a big dig at West Ham in the process:

“I imagine he will have to be dragged out kicking and screaming from Old Trafford and while I don’t admire him completely as a player, he, at least, seems determined to try and change the narrative at his club and play his part, rather than taking a giant step towards oblivion at somewhere like West Ham.”

Oblivion! Jordan certainly didn’t hold back there did he.

The thing is, it’s yet another purposely controversial take from the highly divisive pundit.

There are plenty of players who have joined so-called smaller clubs from big ones and gone on to have very good careers.

Sometimes you’re better off playing regularly for one of the ‘other 14’ than you are sitting on the bench for one of the ‘big six’.

Simon Jordan taking a pop at West Ham regarding a potential deal to sign Harry Maguire is just utter nonsense in my opinion.
