Crystal Palace are eyeing up a move to appoint Rafa Benitez as their new manager after sacking Patrick Vieira, but he would prefer to take over West Ham United.

That’s according to a report from London World who claim that Crystal Palace want Benitez to replace the recently departed Patrick Vieira.

However, the experienced Spaniard is believed to be closely monitoring the situation with David Moyes at West Ham.

Moyes is under real pressure at the London Stadium after overseeing a terrible Premier League campaign so far this season.

And as a result, Rafa Benitez is one man who is allegedly being lined up as a potential replacement for the Scot.

The 62-year-old apparently wants to take over at West Ham as well, despite Palace’s interest in him…

According to a report from London World, the Spaniard is on the Eagles’ radar.

However, Benitez would prefer to take charge at West Ham, should Moyes lose his job.

The two-time La Liga winner, who has Champions League and FA Cup winner’s medals to his name as well, is currently out of work

He is one of the best tacticians around, although his favoured playing style is very negative.

Don’t get me wrong, I have no doubts that he would keep Palace or West Ham in England’s top division with ease.

I just don’t think that he would be a particularly good appointment in the long-term for either of the two London clubs.

There is no chance that West Ham sack Moyes now in my opinion, so Benitez taking over from Patrick Vieira at Crystal Palace is the far more likely outcome as far as I’m concerned.
