Reports in Argentina have backed up recent claims that West Ham could sign Gianluca Scamacca nemesis Mateo Retegui this summer.
Sitio Andino claim that the Hammers have made an enquiry for the 23-year-old Italy international.

West Ham United transfer target Mateo Retegui is the current nemesis of Hammers striker Gianluca Scamacca.

24-year-old West Ham hitman Scamacca is being kept out of the Italy team by the 23-year-old Boca Juniors striker.
FC Inter News recently claimed that Retegui will cost around £17 million. That would represent decent value for the Italy international but I don’t really see the point in the Hammers trying to sign him.
We already have Scamacca, who is a far better striker in my opinion…
West Ham eyeing Scamacca nemesis Mateo Retegui
Sitio Andino reckon that the Hammers have made an enquiry about the 23-year-old Italian hitman.
Now, the fact that Retegui is playing ahead of Scamacca for the Italian national team is absolutely baffling to me.
The former Sassuolo forward is head and shoulders above the Boca Juniors striker, in every single way.

I would be absolutely fuming if David Moyes brought Retegui to the London Stadium this summer and sold Scamacca.
Moyes’s sole focus should be getting the best out of Gianluca Scamacca whilst he is at West Ham.
Signing Retegui as a replacement for him would be a big mistake in my eyes.
Having said that, I’m sure there will be some who disagree. Roberto Mancini clearly favours the 23-year-old over the Hammers hitman at the moment after all!
