West Ham United reportedly may well be open to selling up to seven first-team players in the January window.

Claret and Hugh – a website with close links to David Sullivan – claim that West Ham boss David Moyes will have to sell before buying in the January transfer window.

The Hammers have made a fine start to the 2023/24 campaign, with all four of Moyes’s summer signings having made impressive starts to their careers in East London.

However, a lot more work needs to be done. There is still plenty of deadwood that needs shipping out over the next couple of transfer windows.

And there are apparently plenty of players up for sale at the London Stadium…

Seven West Ham players who could be sold in the January transfer window

Claret and Hugh claim that Pablo Fornals, Danny Ings, Maxwel Cornet, Thilo Kehrer, Aaron Cresswell and Ben Johnson could all be moved on this winter.

In addition to those six, it is claimed that a ‘massive offer could come in from Saudi Arabia for Aguerd’.

Obviously West Ham won’t sell all seven of those players in January. However, I definitely could see Fornals, Cornet and Ings being moved on in order to raise funds for Moyes to make an assault on the transfer market.

I really wouldn’t be surprised if Said Benrahma was sold as well. This upcoming January transfer window will be a busy one for the Hammers in my opinion, and the claims suggesting the club have to sell in order to buy lend further credence to that notion.

West Ham need to sign a top-class striker, a left-back and a right-back in the January window in my opinion, if we are to make a push for the Champions League.

It has been suggested that Moyes wants to bring a number nine to the London Stadium to take over from Michail Antonio.

Whether the Scot will be able to strengthen his squad at all in January remains to be seen though.
