West Ham expect Nikola Vlasic to return to the club from his loan spell with Torino in the summer.
Claret and Hugh, who have close contacts with West Ham co-owner David Sullivan, claim they’ve been told by a top source that the Hammers do not think Torino will take up their option to sign Nikola Vlasic at the end of the season.
However, that might not end up being the case, with Torino reluctant to pay the Hammers owners what they’re demanding for the Croatia international.
The 25-year-old could se set for a surprise return to the London Stadium…
Nikola Vlasic could be set for West Ham return
It seemed for all he world that the Croatian would make his loan move to Torino a permanent one at the end of this season.
He has bagged four goals and four assists for the Italian club this season (Transfermarkt).
However, the former CSKA Moscow star is now expected to return to the Hammers (Claret and Hugh).
Despite Vlasic’s struggles with West Ham, I actually think that the 25-year-old returning to East London could be a really big boost for us.
Vlasic is a really intelligent, technically gifted player who needs to operate in the number 10 position, or as a number 8 at the very least.
However, the Croatian’s lack of pace means that he is rendered as completely useless when deployed out on the left wing.
And that’s why the former CSKA Moscow ace failed to make any kind of impact at the London Stadium.
I strongly feel that David Moyes is the man to blame for Nikola Vlasic’s struggles at West Ham.
However, if the Scot has learnt from his mistakes, and plays the Croatian centrally should he come back to the club, I believe that he could be a real success at the London Stadium.
Nikola Vlasic may well still have a future with West Ham, and we certainly didn’t think that would be the case when he was shipped out on loan to Torino.
