The West Ham United owners are getting increasingly more fed up with David Moyes, and the manager is closer than ever to getting the sack.

David Moyes took charge of West Ham for the second time in December 2019, and his nearly four-year spell has been a successful one.

However, the Europa Conference League success achieved by the Hammers last season masked the deep rot that has set in at the London Stadium when it comes to our absolutely turgid playing style.

Moyes has brought a lot of the problems on himself – failing to sign a top-class striker who suits his system after selling Gianluca Scamacca, a mistake that he made back in 2021 after letting Sebastien Haller go, was unforgivable.

The style of play is archaic – it belongs in a bygone era, much like that manager himself in all fairness.

The performance yesterday just had a certain feel about it – it really was atrocious in every way, and it appears as though Moyes could soon pay the price…

Reporter close to David Sullivan makes astonishing potential David Moyes sack claim

Claret and Hugh – a website with very close links to co-owner David Sullivan, have claimed that patience is running thin with Moyes amongst the powers that be at the London Stadium.

And astonishingly, it has been suggested that the Scot is closer to the sack than he has EVER been before!

When you think how much trouble we were in around March/April time last year, and that our win against Fulham essentially kept Moyes in the job, that really is quite the claim.

I truly believe that sacking Moyes would be the correct decision now. Thanks for the memories Dave, and all that.

However, it’s clear to see that he isn’t the man we need to take this great football club forward. The football that he deploys is rank bad when it comes to a lack of entertainment, speed and fluidity.

Worryingly, there doesn’t seem to be a plan B when we go 1-0 down either.

If David Moyes gets the sack before the turn of the year, there probably won’t be too many West Ham fans who grumble about that decision.
