‘I don’t know where he will stop’: Kurt Zouma absolutely blown away by £16m West Ham teammate

Kurt Zouma had admitted that he’s been absolutely blown away by one of his West Ham United teammates this season.

West Ham centre-back Kurt Zouma was named as the new club captain earlier on this term, and he has massively raised his game since.

Hammers boss David Moyes will be delighted with the way in which the 29-year-old Frenchman has stepped up in his new role.

He’s not the only West Ham player to have raised his game this season though – Jarrod Bowen is another one who has reached a whole new level entirely.

The 26-year-old has six goals and two assists to his name already this season, and he has clearly been making a concerted effort to make more runs in behind – something that has led to David Moyes suggesting that he could become a centre-forward in the not too distant future.

And Zouma has just highlighted how important the former Hull City star is to the current Hammers team…

Signed from Hull City for an initial fee of around £16 million back in January 2020 (Evening Standard), Bowen has gone from strength to strength at the London Stadium.

And Zouma absolutely raved about his West Ham teammate, when speaking to the club’s official website:

“Jarrod is in such good form. He’s always scoring goals and he can do it all. He’s improved a lot and he keeps on improving. I don’t know where he will stop! But hopefully he can keep scoring and our job is to help him get into the best positions to keep doing that. He’s an important player to us and he’s a great guy to have around the squad as well.”

Zouma is right, Bowen has been in exceptional form for the Hammers this season.

The 26-year-old recently signed a new seven-year deal with West Ham, so he will hopefully spend his best years at the London Stadium.

The fact that we even have players like Bowen, and Zouma for that matter, at West Ham is a sign of just how far we have come over the past few years.

I think that the former Hull City man will continue to get better as well. He’s easily good enough to bag 15 goals and 10 assists per season across all competitions at the very least as far as I’m concerned.

Let’s hope that he goes on to reach even greater levels in a Hammers shirt over the next five years or so.
