Tim Steidten apparently could put the kibosh on one potential West Ham United transfer in January.
West Ham appointed Tim Steidten as the director of football on July 1st, and the German has already made a huge impact at the London Stadium.

Hammers boss David Moyes was assisted by Steidten in the summer transfer window when he brought in four truly sensational signings.

Steidten has made such a big impact at West Ham already, and co-owner David Sullivan recently raved about the former Bayer Leverkusen man.

One of the reasons for that is that West Ham quite simply don’t have the money.

However, another reason is because Steidten would prefer Moyes to sign younger players.
There has to be some balance with our transfer business in my opinion, just like there was in the summer transfer window.
Moyes brought in James Ward-Prowse alongside three foreign imports – Edson Alvarez, Mohammed Kudus and Konstantinos Mavropanos. That was the perfect mix as far as I’m concerned.
Another transfer window like that next summer will do just nicely. And who knows, maybe we’ll bring in one or two top signings in January as well.
Whatever happens, it seems as though Steidten will play a key role for us in the market once again.
