Marcelo Bielsa would reportedly only take the West Ham United manager’s job on one very specific condition.

According to Claret and Hugh, who have close contacts with the West Ham board, the Argentinian manager is someone who the Hammers have considered to replace David Moyes.

Moyes is currently under all sorts of pressure at the London Stadium, with his West Ham team currently sitting inside the Premier League relegation zone.

Relegation down to the Championship is starting to look like a very real prospect for the Hammers. And if we don’t beat Nottingham Forest on Saturday, Moyes will surely be handed his P-45.

Marcelo Bielsa is someone who has been mentioned as a potential successor to Moyes, and the South American ex-Leeds boss allegedly wants to take over at the London Stadium.

But is this something that could realistically happen?

Marcelo Bielsa wants West Ham job but on one condition

The 67-year-old would happily take the reins at the London Stadium.

However, Bielsa would demand at least a three-and-a-half year deal, according to a report from Claret and Hugh.

That will obviously represent a big problem for the West Ham owners who don’t want to commit to another long-term deal.

Bringing in someone on a 6 or 18 months deal will be ideal, if and when Moyes is eventually moved on.

Marcelo Bielsa obviously wants more job security though from West Ham, and I don’t blame him one little bit for that.

The most important thing for the Hammers to do now is to sack Moyes. In my opinion, we will get relegated if he stays in charge at the London Stadium.

And in my opinion, Bielsa would be a great appointment in the short-term. He would bring the fun back into the club that’s for sure, with his expansive, free-flowing brand of attacking football.

However, it appears as though the Argentinian won’t be coming to West Ham any time soon, what with his contract demands.
