West Ham United transfer target Evan Ndicka has a verbal agreement in place to join Barcelona on a free transfer in the summer.

That’s according to Sport 1 journalist Christopher Michel who claims that although the 23-year-old centre-back has agreed to join Barcelona, the ball is still in the Spanish club’s court as to whether they pull the trigger and bring him to the Camp Nou.

The Hammers manager will undoubtedly be prioritising the addition of a top-class centre-back in the summer transfer window.

With so many new signings needed at West Ham in the summer, the chance to sign Ndicka on a free transfer is one that we really should be all over.

It seems as though West Ham are set for disappointment regarding the chase for the French central defender though, with Barcelona in the race…

West Ham to miss out on Evan Ndicka to Barcelona

Hammers boss Moyes will have to focus his attention elsewhere in his search for a centre-back in the summer transfer window.

That’s because Ndicka is allegedly Barcelona bound, or at least very likely to be.

Sport 1 journalist Christopher Michel claims that the defender has a verbal agreement in place to join Barcelona on a free transfer:

I would absolutely love the Eintracht Frankfurt ace at the London Stadium. He’d be a huge signing for us. However, it seems like Barcelona are set to win the race for the Frenchman’s signature.

Ndicka is a truly elite defender, make no mistake about that.

In 32 Bundesliga games for Eintracht Frankfurt last season, Ndicka bagged four goals and four assists. During those appearances, he averaged 1.9 tackles, 1.5 interceptions and 4.1 clearances per game (Who Scored).

Ndicka is an absolute colossus. Standing at 6ft 4in tall, he is totally dominant in the air. The centre-back seems to be tailor made for Premier League football.

He has been described as an ‘integral’ player for Frankfurt this season by The Mastermind Site.

Football journalist Zach Lowy has described the centre-back as a ‘brilliant’ player.

I just feel like Evan Ndicka is someone who West Ham should have signed before Barcelona even entered the race for him.

The Hammers missing out on the 23-year-old could end up being a really costly mistake in my opinion.
