West Ham are reportedly one of 10 clubs trying to sign Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back Evan Ndicka on a free transfer.

That’s according to Jeunes Footeux who claim that Hammers boss David Moyes is battling the likes of Newcastle and Manchester United for the 23-year-old’s signature.

However, it is suggested by the French publication that all interested parties are prepared wait until the summer before making a move to sign him on a free transfer.

West Ham have been linked with a move to sign Ndicka for quite some time now.

Signing a central defender this month appears to be an absolute must for David Moyes. Craig Dawson is allegedly set for a move away from the London Stadium before the end of the January transfer window.

But it appears as though Moyes could be ready to wait until the summer for one of his key transfer targets…

The Hammers are allegedly in the market for the powerful French defender.

However, the bad news is that so are nine other clubs, including the likes of Newcastle and Man United, according to a report from Jeunes Footeux.

I would absolutely love the Eintracht Frankfurt ace at the London Stadium. He’d be a huge signing for us.

Ndicka is a truly elite defender, make no mistake about that.

In 32 Bundesliga games for Eintracht Frankfurt last season, Ndicka bagged four goals and four assists. During those appearances, he averaged 1.9 tackles, 1.5 interceptions and 4.1 clearances per game (Who Scored).

We could steal a march on our competitors by making an offer for the 23-year-old centre-back this month.

However, whether or not that will happen remains to be seen.

Ndicka is an absolute colossus. Standing at 6ft 4in tall, he is totally dominant in the air. The centre-back seems to be tailor made for Premier League football.

He has been described as an ‘integral’ player for Frankfurt this season by The Mastermind Site.

Football journalist Zach Lowy has described the centre-back as a ‘brilliant’ player.

Reports have claimed that West Ham are trying to sign Ndicka. However, it seems although there might just be too much competition for us in the summer.
