Report makes incredibly ignorant and ill-researched Tottenham vs West Ham face-off claim

The Tottenham vs West Ham United Premier League clash on Thursday is an eagerly anticipated one amongst both sets of fans.

West Ham travel to north London next week to take on a Tottenham side who began the Premier League season on absolute fire, but have now been hit with the cold and harsh reality of a real injury crisis.

Hammers boss David Moyes will surely set up his team with the intent to win the game – Spurs could be there for the taking after all, with so many players currently out injured.

However, Ange Postecoglou did suggest that one player could return to action in time for the clash with West Ham, with Richarlison working his way back from injury:

“Richy’s (Richarlison) probably the closest out of the ones who have been missing, so looking to get him involved in training hopefully tomorrow (Saturday) and then we’ll see how he is as he’s obviously missed a fair bit. He’s done his rehab really well and he feels good which is important. He’s sort of the next cab off the ranks in terms of the injured guys.”

That’s all well and good, but an opinion piece from the Express has completely missed the point with their latest article…

Report makes lazy West Ham vs Tottenham claim

The Express has suggested that we could be in for an awkward evening on Thursday, with Richarlison and Michail Antonio set to face off against each other.

The Hammers hitman caused a real controversy at the end of last season when he made fun of the Brazilian forward for his lack of goals.

However, it’s highly unlikely that the West Ham and Tottenham forwards will be in close contact with one another on Thursday night.

The Express completely failed to mention that Antonio is currently out injured with a knee problem and is highly likely to miss the game in north London in five day’s time.

It’s an incredibly lazy and ill-researched piece from the newspaper. The West Ham forward will be out for a minimum of three weeks according to Moyes, although some reports are suggesting that he could be on the sidelines for three months.

The Express clearly missed this fact completely ahead of the Tottenham vs West Ham clash. There will be no Richardson vs Antonio face-off, bar an absolute miracle.
