Kalvin Phillips is now open to leaving Manchester City with West Ham United in the race to obtain his signature this summer.
West Ham United are keen to prise Kalvin Phillips away from Manchester City, according to a report from 90 Min.

The 27-year-old Man City midfielder is believed to be a potential replacement for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, when he eventually leaves the London Stadium.

Rice will almost certainly leave the Hammers in the summer, with some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs eyeing up moves to sign him.
Phillips is someone who West Ham have eyed before as a replacement for Dec. The Hammers tried to sign Phillips from Leeds in January 2022, and then again in the summer before he eventually joined Man City.
And now it seems as though David Moyes is ready to go back in for the City midfielder…
West Ham eyeing Kalvin Phillips swoop
90 Min claim that the £42 million man is now open to leaving the Etihad, having found his game-time limited under Pep Guardiola.
And it is suggested that West Ham are in the race to sign the 26-capped England international.
Phillips has played just 56 minutes of Premier League football for Manchester City this season (Transfermarkt).
West Ham shouldn’t be going anywhere near Phillips in my opinion.
There was a time when I would have absolutely loved to see Kalvin Phillips move to the London Stadium.
However, he has grown increasingly more injury prone over the past two years, and the last thing we need to do is replace Declan Rice with someone who can’t even play 20 Premier League games per season.

He has experienced real problems with shoulder, hamstring and calf injuries over the past few years.
Make no mistake about it – a fully fit Kalvin Phillips would make a huge difference to this West Ham team.
The problem with the ex-Leeds ace is that he clearly isn’t physically robust enough for the Premier League. And I would assume that that would be a big red flag for David Moyes, when looking for the perfect Rice replacement.
I would prefer it if West Ham steered well clear of Kalvin Phillips this summer. In order to adequately replace Rice, Moyes should be looking at players like Ibrahim Sangare, Khephren Thuram and Sofyan Amrabat.
