A report has emerged detailing exactly what David Moyes thinks of West Ham United striker Michail Antonio.

West Ham manager David Moyes deploys a system that is totally reliant on a forward like Michail Antonio – someone who tirelessly runs the channels and holds up the ball, whilst bringing others into play.

The Hammers forward has been a great servant for the club over the past eight years. However, he is undoubtedly on the downward curve of his career now, and he keeps angering the West Ham fans with his silly comments on his podcast.

Antonio’s form has been poor to say the least this season as well, with just two goals and one assist in 10 games to his name (Transfermarkt).

And his shocking season culminated with an absolute stinker last weekend against Aston Villa. Moyes continues to play him though, much to the bemusement of the club’s fans…

Report emerges detailing exactly what David Moyes thinks of Michail Antonio

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Antonio has the full support of Moyes.

It is claimed that the Scot has been more than happy with the 33-year-old’s performances this season.

That’s just utterly baffling to me. Sure, his game is about so much more than just goals, but he quite simply hasn’t even been doing the simple things well recently.

So many of our counter attacks have been breaking down because of Antonio’s poor first touch and questionable decision making.

Signing an upgrade on the Jamaica international should be the main priority for Moyes in January, or at the very latest next summer.

There are plenty of options out there for us, including the likes of Serhou Guirassy, Santiago Gimenez, Adam Hlozek and Vangelis Pavlidis.

However, going by TEAMtalk’s report, David Moyes is more than happy with Michail Antonio. And if that is indeed true, the Hammers fans should be very concerned.

As mentioned earlier, he has been a great player for us over the past eight years. However, he’s nowhere near good enough to be our main striker anymore in my opinion.
