West Ham have joined the race to bring ex Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom back to London from Middlesbrough.
According to a report from the Daily Mirror (print edition April 28th, page 67) ex Arsenal hitman Chuba Akpom is a transfer target for West Ham ahead of the summer transfer window.

Hammers boss David Moyes needs to bolster his attacking ranks at the London Stadium this summer.

Michail Antonio, 33, is well past his best whilst there are question marks as to whether Danny Ings and Gianluca Scamacca fit into the Scot’s system at West Ham.
And it seems as though the West Ham boss has someone specific in mind for the job…
West Ham eyeing Chuba Akpom swoop
It is claimed by the Mirror that the Hammers are closely monitoring the pacy front-man ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old has bagged 114 goals in 363 career games for Arsenal, Hull City, PAOK Thessaloniki and Middlesbrough (Transfermarkt).
And this season has been his best yet with 29 goals in 38 games for Boro to his name (Transfermarkt).

I think that Akpom would be a very useful addition for the Hammers, but not if he is the only striker that Moyes signs.
In my opinion, the Scot should be looking to move on Antonio and Ings this summer, and signing Akpom alongside someone else like Viktor Gyökeres would be great business for the club in my view.
The 27-year-old has pace in abundance and is a really good finisher when presented with a goalscoring opportunity.
If Chuba Akpom is available for a reasonable fee in the summer transfer window, West Ham should be all over trying to bring him back to London.
