Manuel Lanzini might be given the nod to start for West Ham vs Southampton on Sunday afternoon.

West Ham United midfielder Manuel Lanzini has played a peripheral role for the club this season, but it might just be time for all of that to change.

Southampton travel to the London Stadium to take on the Hammers tomorrow afternoon, and if David Moyes really wants all three points, Lanzini just has to start in my opinion.

The 30-year-old West Ham ace is so good on the ball, has exceptional technical ability and always tries to pass forward.

I think that the South American could be in line for his first Premier League start since August…

The 30-year-old Hammers midfielder has featured prominently on the West Ham website this week.

Firstly, he was spotted in several training photos, and then he sat down for a feature length interview with the club.

Listen, West Ham desperately need all three points vs Southampton at the London Stadium tomorrow.

In order to get the win against the Saints, we absolutely have to take the game to the visitors rather than sit back, ‘keep it tight’ and wait for something good to happen.

The south coast outfit will obviously be desperate for a win as well as they look to extricate themselves from the relegation zone.

This game really won’t be easy, but if we start on the front foot, we should have every chance of winning the game. The best way to do that will be to have someone like Lanzini alongside Declan Rice and Lucas Paqueta in the middle of the park.

Lanzini hasn’t started a game for the Hammers since August – our first game of the season at home to Manchester City.

However, I truly believe that the South American will start the West Ham vs Southampton clash after the activity on the club’s official website this week.
