New West Ham United signing Danny Ings is fighting a losing battle, David Moyes has to change or he’ll be a huge flop.

Ings, 30, joined the Hammers from Aston Villa in the January transfer window for around £15 million.

As things stand, he is still yet to open his goalscoring account for West Ham.

In fairness to Ings though, he has only been given around 50 minutes of action for the Hammers so far (Transfermarkt).

And I believe that Moyes is making a really big mistake…

Danny Ings will not succeed at West Ham without some help from David Moyes

The Hammers boss really needs to change things if we are to see the best of the experienced centre-forward at the London Stadium.

In order to give Ings the best chance to succeed, Moyes has two options.

1 – he can play Ings from the start, and in my opinion he absolutely has to start the match away at Tottenham next weekend.

Or 2 – when he brings the 30-year-old on from the bench, he needs to give him at least 30 minutes AND keep his creative, attacking players on the pitch alongside him.

When Ings has been brought on for his three substitute appearances so far, it has usually coincided with Moyes shutting up shop and bringing on the likes of Tomas Soucek and Flynn Downes in place of Lucas Paqueta and Said Benrahma.

What chance does Danny Ings have of succeeding with West Ham when he’s feeding off absolute scraps?

David Moyes absolutely has to get the best out of the former Aston Villa striker, if we are to avoid relegation this season. And the Scot is getting it terribly wrong at the moment in my opinion.
