West Ham United are now eyeing up a hugely exciting deal to sign Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord in the January transfer window.

Santiago Gimenez is an unbelievable striker, and would take West Ham to another level entirely if David Moyes brings him to the London Stadium in the January transfer window.

The prolific 22-year-old hitman was linked with a move to the Hammers just last month, and now it seems like the East London outfit are ramping up our chase for his signature.

According to a report from the Times, West Ham are tracking the Feyenoord forward in the January window, ahead of a potential bid for him.

The Hammers are desperately short of a proper striker, and the Mexico international would undoubtedly take us to the next level.

Now it seems like Moyes bringing Gimenez to the London Stadium could be a reality…

West Ham eyeing Santiago Gimenez swoop

What an absolutely unbelievable signing he would be for the Hammers this month. It goes without saying that he’d be a major upgrade on both Michail Antonio and Danny Ings.

The 22-year-old has bagged 20 goals and five assists in 22 games for Feyenoord so far this season (Transfermarkt).

Hammers linked Arne Slot recently described the Feyenoord forward as ‘special’, when speaking to Feyenoord.nl back in April, and he’s absolutely bang on the money.

He is quick, incredibly strong and a superb finisher. The Mexican has all of the attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League, what with his strength, aerial ability and tight ball control.

It is expected that Feyenoord will demand in excess of £40 million for the clinical centre-forward this winter though (the Mirror).

And whether West Ham owners will be prepared to pay that kind of money for Santiago Gimenez midway through the season remains to be seen. What I will say though, is that he’d be more than worth that kind of money.

If there is any way of getting it done this month, the Hammers board should not hesitate to make it happen.
