Major boost with West Ham in the best position to sign France international powerhouse

West Ham United seem to be increasingly more likely to sign a truly elite France international this summer.

The summer transfer window was always going to be a vitally important one for the new West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui.

The Hammers chief has made a fine start to the window, with deals for Niclas Fullkrug, Crysencio Summerville and Aaron Wan-Bissaka now believed to be imminent.

Those three players coming into the London Stadium, alongside Max Kilman, Luis Guilherme and Wes Foderingham, would make the summer window a 8.5/10 for us as far as I’m concerned.

All Lopetegui would need to turn it into a 10/10 window is another top-class central defender and a central midfielder.

Whether that’s achievable remains to be see, but it seems like West Ham are in a really strong position to address one of those two positions this summer…

Big boost with West Ham in best position to sign Jean-Clair Todibo

The form of Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd during pre-season so far has been extremely worrying.

And heading into the new Premier League season with either of them playing for us would be a kamikaze move in my opinion.

With that in mind, it’s good to know that we seemingly still have a chance of bringing Jean-Clair Todibo to the London Stadium to partner Kilman.

According to a report from Nice-Matin (print edition August 1st, page 39), West Ham are in a really strong position to sign the Nice star this summer.

That’s because the offer that has been put forward by the Hammers is of ‘real market value’ – around £30 million, whilst Juventus’ bid has been described as ‘ridiculous’.

It was initially thought that West Ham were out of luck in the pursuit of the 6ft 3in France international powerhouse, with the player keen to join Juve instead.

However, we were given hope again yesterday when it was claimed that the Hammers were well back in the race to sign Todibo.

And now the latest report coming out of France means that Lopetegui surely has a really strong chance of signing him.

Todibo would be a sensational signing for the Hammers. He’s incredibly powerful in the air, quick along the ground, is a great tackler and reads the game superbly well.

At 24, the Frenchman has at least 10 years left ahead of him playing at the highest level, and the partnership he would form with Kilman would be a fearsome one.

Whether or not West Ham manage to convince Jean-Clair Todibo to move to the London Stadium this summer remains to be seen though.
