There’s a major boost for West Ham as star Lucas Paqueta films himself already back training in the gym following his injury.

‘Pack it in’ Lucas Paqueta told the sensationalist football media this week after reports he is going to be out of West Ham action for two months.

West Ham’s Brazilian magnifico Paqueta suffered the recurrence of a calf injury in the FA Cup draw with Bristol City last time out.

It was one of three major blows from that game as the Hammers saw Konstantinos Mavropanos and Jarrod Bowen leave the pitch injured too.

Major boost as Paqueta films himself back training

With Michail Antonio ruled out for another six weeks, Mohammed Kudus away at AFCON, yet another game added to a gruelling fixture schedule and two drab home draws in a row, it’s not been the best start to the new year for West Ham.

Paqueta took to social media this week to deny claims he will be out for up to eight weeks – a month more than originally reported.

Now the Hammers talisman has taken to social media again in the best video fans will see all week.

Paqueta has posted videos on his Instagram Stories showing himself training in the gym. He is seen doing weights with no need for support or strapping around his calf/knee area.

And he accompanied the video with the caption: “God is in the boat, let’s go up.”

It is fantastic to see Paqueta training and hugely reassuring. Let’s hope it means he will be back more in line with the original four-week projection.

There was further good news for West Ham this week when we spotted a post on social media from Mavropanos which suggests his injury is definitely not serious.

And there could be yet more in the coming weeks for the Hammers regarding Kudus and AFCON too.

Having said that this is the rather worrying looking team West Ham will likely be fielding in the FA Cup replay at Bristol on Tuesday night.
