Jack Wilshere could come back to haunt West Ham United with Declan Rice and a potential summer move to Arsenal for our club captain.

The West Ham skipper, 24, is the best player at the London Stadium by a long way and he is the most important member of the squad as far as influence goes.

Hammers boss David Moyes will obviously be desperate to keep Rice at the club in the summer transfer window but that may well be impossible, with Arsenal keen to sign him.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of the 39-capped England international and wants him at the Emirates (The Athletic).

Rice is allegedly keen on joining Arsenal in the summer as well.

And now it seems like the Gunners might have a secret weapon in the chase to sign Dec…

Arsenal to use Jack Wilshere to help sign West Ham ace Declan Rice

According to a report from Daily Mail, the Gunners are hoping that Wilshere’s relationship with Rice will help swing the pendulum in their direction.

I feel like most West Ham fans have accepted that the 24-year-old will be leaving the London Stadium in the summer.

Moyes surely has as well. However, he won’t be allowed to leave on the cheap with the Hammers said to be demanding around £120 million for the all-action midfielder.

The most important thing for West Ham in the summer will be replacing Declan Rice adequately. Moyes absolutely has to get that signing 100 per cent spot on, if we are to make genuine progress as a club.

If the Hammers get top dollar for Dec, there will be plenty of options out there for us. However, that will not make losing Rice any easier.

And if Jack Wilshere helps facilitate a move to Arsenal for the 24-year-old West Ham star, it will really hurt. The injury prone ex-Hammers midfielder proved to be one of our worst signings in recent years and spent more time in a washing machine that he did on the pitch in a claret and blue shirt.

West Ham mutually terminated his deal two-and-a-half years ago, but it seems as though Wilshere could come back to haunt us.
