David Moyes made a horrendous error by bringing Danny Ings to West Ham United in January this year.
West Ham boss David Moyes signed Danny Ings from Aston Villa for around £15 million (Sky Sports), but the 31-year-old has been absolutely awful for the Hammers, and it could be argued that he will go down as one of our worst signings of all-time.

Ings is nowhere near good enough to be playing Premier League football anymore – his legs have gone and he is painfully ill-suited to Moyes’s system.
The fact that Moyes signed a striker who has historically performed at his best when playing alongside another centre-forward really is utterly bizarre to say the least.
Ings has scored only three goals in 39 games for West Ham since moving to the London Stadium, and he still hasn’t found the back of the net yet in 17 outings this term (Transfermarkt).
However, it’s not just his lack of goals that is a huge concern, and it could end up proving to be really costly for Moyes if he keeps giving the striker minutes from the bench…
David Moyes should never play Danny Ings again for West Ham
A really worrying statistic has emerged regarding Ings this season.
The former Aston Villa, Southampton, Liverpool and Burnley hitman has come off the bench 13 times so far this term.
And in five of those games – Bournemouth away, Luton away, Aston Villa away, Brentford away and Liverpool at Anfield last night – the Hammers have conceded goals almost immediately after he has entered the pitch.
You know the old saying – ‘defend from the front’…yep, I’m not sure that applies to Ings. The man has absolutely zero athleticism, and it’s obvious to see that when he’s on the pitch, it’s like we are playing with 10 men.
The 31-year-old doesn’t even seem to have put in anywhere near 100% effort when he has been given a chance this season, and he was the first player down the tunnel during our defeat to Brentford last month, failing to even acknowledge the away support.
This all sounds incredibly harsh, I’m well aware of that. However, there is no room for sentiment in elite level sport.
It will be incredibly hard to shift him in the January transfer window due to his extortionate wages. The only positive is that he has only 18 months left to run on his current deal at the London Stadium.
Whenever he does leave is irelevent though. David Moyes can’t afford to give Danny Ings any minutes whatsoever whilst he is in charge of West Ham.
