West Ham United desperately need a win against Nottingham Forest on Saturday in order to move out of the Premier League relegation zone.

Forest are a much improved team of late, and we are in no way favourites for this game in my opinion.
Amazingly, David Moyes is still safe in his role as West Ham manager. I can’t fathom why that’s the case, but it apparently is.
A win against Nottingham Forest is much-needed for the club, the fans and Moyes. However, an official announcement leading up to the game will leave the Hammers fans absolutely fuming…

Jarred Gillett has been appointed as the referee for our clash with Nottingham Forest at the London Stadium on Saturday (Premier League’s official website).
Remember him West Ham fans? The Australian took charge of the reverse fixture between the Hammers and Forest at the City Ground way back in August.
We had a Said Benrahma goal unfairly ruled out that would have put us 1-0 up and Gillett also failed to give us a penalty in the second-half, although VAR did step in an overturn his decision. Declan Rice subsequently missed the spot kick though.
And that’s not all…it actually gets worse if you can believe that!
Back in September, we lost 2-1 away at Chelsea, after having a last minute equaliser pathetically ruled out by VAR. Any guesses for who was on VAR duty that day? You’ve got it…it was Gillett again.
The fact that the Australian has been appointed as referee for what is such a crucial game for us is an absolute joke of the very highest order in my opinion.
The West Ham vs Nottingham Forest clash is a must win game for us, there is no doubt about that. We need the three points in order to have a proper chance of avoiding relegation.
And with Jarred Gillett in charge, I believe that our task of doing just that has become a lot harder. The West Ham fans will be steaming with anger at Gillett’s appointment, and rightly so in my opinion.
