Ghana are about to absolutely infuriate West Ham regarding Mohammed Kudus

West Ham United are not happy one little bit with Ghana, with Chris Hughton ready to make a big decision on Mohammed Kudus.

Mohammed Kudus is currently away from West Ham on international duty with Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations.

David Moyes was unable to call upon the Hammers winger in our final Premier League game of the festive period against Brighton on January 2nd, due to rules that required clubs to release their players for AFCON no later than January 1st.

It didn’t actually make any difference to us in the end, because Kudus was suffering with a hamstring injury.

And that injury is now a real bone of contention between West Ham and Ghana it seems. Apparently, Ghana are hopeful that the 23-year-old will start their group opener against Cape Verde tonight (The Athletic).

However, the Hammers aren’t on the same page…

Ghana about to infuriate West Ham regarding Mohammed Kudus

Club insiders Claret and Hugh claim that the Hammers are hopeful that the former Ajax man does not feature in Ghana’s AFCON opener tonight.

That’s because the West Ham fitness team don’t believe that Kudus is ready, having only joined Ghana for training on Tuesday.

The thing is, hamstring injuries are so incredibly delicate, and players really can’t rush back from them.

I get that Chris Hughton is desperate for his best player to start against Cape Verde but rushing him back would be counter-intuitive.

The Black Stars boss needs Kudus for the remainder of the tournament, so hopefully he will rest him for tonight’s game.

If the Ghanaian ace does play against Cape Verde from the start, I know how this story will end. He will most likely aggravate his hamstring injury and cause himself more problems further down the line.

Hopefully Ghana do the right thing, and leave West Ham ace Mohammed Kudus out tonight, or put him on the bench at the very least. It will be the right thing to do, and in the best interest of all parties involved.

The last thing anyone wants is for the 23-year-old’s hamstring problem to get exacerbated because of how his injury has been managed.
