There has been yet another twist to the Mohammed Kudus saga ahead of the West Ham United vs Brighton clash tonight.
West Ham play host to Brighton in the Premier League this evening, and David Moyes will be without Mohammed Kudus, after we had our appeal to release him for AFCON duty tomorrow rather than today rejected.
Hammers boss Moyes even highlighted how his team might struggle to cope without the Ghanaian when speaking to reporters yesterday.
The fact that we haven’t got Kudus available for tonight’s game is an absolute joke, when Liverpool were able to call upon Mohamed Salah for their clash with Newcastle last night, and the Premier League owe us a big apology in my view.
The 23-year-old has been one of our best players this season, with 10 goals to his name already, so the thought of having unavailable for the Brighton game is a depressing one.
However, it appears as though there has been yet another twist to the saga…
Kudus update ahead of West Ham vs Brighton
According to a report from the Evening Standard, Kudus is still yet to travel to link up with the Ghana squad, due to a minor injury.
Now, if he’s injured it will obviously mean that he couldn’t play against Brighton anyway.
However, it’s still so frustrating that our game wasn’t scheduled for yesterday, so that the 23-year-old was at least available for selection.
A win against Brighton tonight would take us five points clear of seventh placed Manchester United in the table.
I feel like it will be incredibly hard for Moyes’s side to beat the Seagulls without the Ghana international, especially considering the fact that Lucas Paqueta is likely to miss the game through injury.
Mohammed Kudus has been electric for West Ham this season, and we will certainly miss his ability on the ball inside the final third against Brighton tonight.
All we can hope for is that every other player steps up and produces the goods for the Hammers at the London Stadium against the south coast outfit.
