West Ham United have a lot of business to do in the January transfer window as far as I’m concerned.
David Moyes needs to bring one or two top-class signings to West Ham in January, but he needs to move on some of the deadwood as well.

There are numerous players currently at the London Stadium who are quite simply not good enough to be playing Premier League football in my opinion.

Hammers striker Danny Ings is one of the worst in my view, and not only is he completely past it at the very highest level, but he’s also painfully ill-suited to Moyes’s system.
The forward was apparently very close to joining Everton in the summer, but he remained at the London Stadium in the end.
And now I think that West Ham might need to take matters into our own hands…
Forget trying to sell flop in January, West Ham need to ‘do a Wilshere’ and buy out his contract
Three years ago, West Ham essentially bought out the remainder of Jack Wilshere‘s contract.
Wilshere had just nine months remaining on his deal with the Hammers at the time. He was on £100,000 per week, so that roughly works out to around £3.92 million that West Ham would have had to pay him.
However, the club allegedly agreed to pay Wilshere around 85% of that figure. And we need to do the same with Ings.

The 31-year-old currently earns around £125k-a-week at the London Stadium (Spotrac), with 20 months remaining on his contract.
That means we will still have to pay him around £10.8 million up until June 2025. So why not offer him half of that and release him now? I just can’t see any club taking up the option to sign the ageing striker after his form over the past nine months or so.
Getting rid of Ings now would also clear the path for Divin Mubama to play more regularly. The 18-year-old is the future of this great club, not Danny Ings.
And David Moyes should really consider letting the 31-year-old go before the January transfer window even opens.
