Jack Wilshere has posted a tweet after terminating his contract with West Ham by mutual consent.

The 28-year-old has really struggled for fitness and form since moving to the Hammers from Arsenal on a free transfer in the summer of 2018.

In fact, Wilshere has played just 18 games for West Ham.

It was clear that he had no future under David Moyes. And the former Arsenal man’s time in east London has now come to an end.

Wilshere had just nine months remaining on his deal with the Hammers. He was on £100,000 per week, so that roughly works out to around £3.92 million that West Ham would have had to pay him.

ExWHUemployee claims that the Hammers have agreed to pay him around 85% of that amount in order to terminate his contract.

So we have probably saved somewhere around £600,000 by letting the 34-capped England international go.

It could be argued that that is actually a wise move from West Ham. Especially if it frees up some money to bring in some of Moyes’s key targets.

Wilshere has taken to Twitter to deliver a message after his exit from the London Stadium…

And ExWHUemployee lent credence to Wilshere’s claim…

It seems as though Wilshere just wasn’t fancied by Moyes. But he can’t grumble too much. He never showed us what he’s capable of during his time in east London.
