Everton reportedly could make a surprise move to sign Danny Ings from West Ham United this summer.

According to The Sunday Mirror (print edition August 27th, page 77), West Ham striker Danny Ings is a summer transfer window target for Everton.

The 31-year-old striker joined the Hammers from Aston Villa back in January for around £15 million (Sky Sports).

He has really struggled since moving to the London Stadium though, bagging just three goals and two assists in 24 games for West Ham (Transfermarkt), and he’s definitely not a shoo-in to start under David Moyes.

He actually admitted just a couple of months ago that he hadn’t completely settled into life at West Ham yet. And he could now be set for an exit…

The Mirror reckon that cash-strapped Everton could try to sign Ings before the transfer window slams shut, with Sean Dyche desperate to add a proven goalscorer to his ranks.

Dyche knows the 31-year-old very well from his time in charge of Burnley, so it would be no surprise to see him try to bring the Hammers forward to Goodison Park this summer.

I would be more than happy for Ings to leave the London Stadium this summer – he doesn’t suit Moyes’s system one little bit.

In my opinion, the former Villa, Southampton, Burnley and Liverpool man is well past his best.

Michail Antonio is currently on fire for West Ham, and if Moyes brings in another forward before Friday’s deadline, Danny Ings will surely be allowed to leave the London Stadium.

And if we can get a decent fee for him it will be a real bonus.
