David Moyes is pleading for a second chance at West Ham and has made a vow to disgruntled fans who have been berating him.
It has been a strange old week in the weird and wonderful world of West Ham where there’s rarely a dull moment.
During the international break Hammers News stated West Ham were capable of getting seven points from their three games in six days to Save Our Season.
Well the Hammers were not far off – managing a very welcome and much needed six points to boost our chances of survival.
Going into those games West Ham fans to a man would have taken wins, goals and points any which way they came.
Yet the manner of the performances has somehow intensified the pressure on David Moyes.

A win is a win but my goodness it’s grim is the general feeling among West Ham fans who are watching the likes of Southampton, Fulham, Brighton, Brentford and a host of other teams play a much more expansive, competent and modern style of football.
Whatever way you dress it up, it is disheartening to be absolutely played off the park by a side like Fulham.
Before every West Ham game in the Premier League under Moyes there are almost always two certainties.
- The other team will have far superior possession than the Hammers.
- The opponents usually complete double the number of passes.
Anyone watching the win over Fulham will know that was the case without even having to check the stats.
But this time they are as shocking as you might imagine.

The Cottagers had 77% possession to West Ham’s 23%. And they completed 659 passes to West Ham’s meagre 196. Yes you did just read that correctly.
Moyes says West Ham’s struggles this season have been down to having to integrate so many new players at one time.
But Fulham have had an excellent season and signed 13 or 14 players so it just doesn’t wash with many supporters.
Last week Moyes admitted his attempt to change West Ham’s style of play ‘hasn’t worked‘.
Now Moyes is pleading for a second chance at West Ham and makes a vow to disgruntled fans who have been berating him.
Many supporters are sick of the style of play under the Scot, particularly given the lack of results to justify it.
West Ham fans unfurled a banner about Moyes during the welcome but extremely fortunate win at Fulham.
Hammers supporters also chanted ‘You don’t know what you’re doing’ to the boss.

Moyes responded by refusing to acknowledge the away section as he left the pitch, instead staring them down in an act of defiance.
But as emotions settled settled after the game, Moyes came to his senses to acknowledge there is simply no future for this particular brand of football at West Ham.
And he has asked fans for a second chance to get the rebuild right.
“Sometimes we have to get in the right position and find ways of winning and I thought we did that,” Moyes said after the game.
“We would like to be playing slightly differently, but at the moment we need to get wins – and we got one today.
“I’ve said this before, we would like to play a more expansive game, that’s the plan. But when you are in this position in the league which West Ham have been in several times, you understand that there is a way you have to play to grind the results out. I think today, the decisions we made worked really well.”
