West Ham fans unfurled a banner about David Moyes during the welcome but extremely fortunate win at Fulham on Saturday afternoon.
As we all said on Sunday after the narrow victory over Southampton – a win is a win for West Ham at this stage of the season.
West Ham went into the match against Fulham knowing the stakes were high. Not only for their Premier League survival hopes, but David Moyes’ survival hopes too.
Reports in the build-up to the match was that Moyes could be sacked if West Ham lost at Craven Cottage.
To their credit West Ham defended manfully and were able to somehow grind out a win thanks to Harrison Reed’s own goal in the first half after good work from Jarrod Bowen.
We would all have taken any kind of win before the game of course.
But make no mistake this performance will do little to sway opinion over Moyes at West Ham.
And that was made abundantly clear during the game over at Craven Cottage.

The black banner with white writing was calling for the manager’s head and simply read: ‘Moyes Out’.
The Scot – or anyone watching in the director’s box for that matter – would have done well to spot the banner in among the West Ham fans.
Those holding it aloft were stuck right towards the back of the away section packed full of true supporters as always.

While the win eases the pressure on West Ham somewhat, the Hammers are still just three points above the drop zone.
West Ham will definitely drop down a place when Crystal Palace play Leeds whatever the result.
But looking ahead to Premier League survival, in West Ham’s favour at the moment is the fact they have a better goal difference than many of their survival rivals.
Play like this against Arsenal next weekend and that may not be the case for much longer.
But let’s enjoy the week ahead and European quarter-final before we start worrying about the Gunners.
Many West Ham fans may want ‘Moyes Out’ but the win ensures he stays, probably until the summer at least.
