David Moyes must now use Alphonse Areola as his number one West Ham United goalkeeper in place of Lukasz Fabianski.
The 37-year-old suffered an eye injury after a nasty collision during the West Ham vs Nottingham Forest clash at the London Stadium on Saturday.

Of course, nobody wishes an injury on anyone, and I hope that Fabianski makes a quick recovery.

However, now seems like the ideal time to bring Areola into the first-team.
In my opinion, it shouldn’t even be a debate. Areola is a better goalkeeper than Fabianski in pretty much every single department. The French World Cup winner should be the Hammers number one.
And now Moyes has the perfect chance to make the transition…
David Moyes has the perfect chance to make big Alphonse Areola decision
Areola would probably have played against Manchester United in the FA Cup on Wednesday night, regardless of whether Fabianski was injured or not. However, he may well now be in line to start our clash with Brighton on Saturday.
With Fabianski’s eye looking pretty nasty when he went off the field yesterday, he may well be forced to sit out one or two games. And that will present Moyes with the perfect opportunity to do something that he’s been so resistant to do for 18 months now – make Areola our number one.
Breaking The Lines have described Areola as a ‘brilliant’ goalkeeper.
The ex-PSG ace produced a superb save in the dying minutes against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, and reminded everybody just how good he is.

The reflexes that Areola has are far superior to Fabianski. I have no doubt that the 37-year-old would have just stood by idly while that shot ended up in the roof of our net.
Areola is a top-class goalkeeper and he can be our number one stopper for the next seven or eight years.
The 29-year-old has conceded just 24 goals in 31 appearances for the Hammers and kept 15 clean sheets in the process (Transfermarkt).
He made wonder saves against Sevilla last season and Anderlecht this term. Quite frankly why those alone were not enough to secure him the number one jersey is baffling in itself. But now, David Moyes has the perfect chance to make the transition with Alphonse Areola becoming our number one goalkeeper.
I think having the Frenchman between the sticks for us in the Premier League would make a huge difference.
