Alphonse Areola has posted a cryptic message on his official Instagram account, as he continues to struggle for game-time at West Ham United.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper has barely played in the Premier League this season – in fact he’s been given just 105 minutes of league action by David Moyes (Transfermarkt).

Areola earns £120k-a-week at West Ham according to Spotrac. He’s a World Cup winner and is a top-class goalkeeper – one of the very best in my opinion.

Yet he is our number two goalkeeper at the London Stadium. Make it make sense!

Moyes really is risking losing Areola by not playing him in my opinion. And judging by the Frenchman’s latest social media post, he isn’t happy one little bit at the moment with his lack of action…

Areola joined the Hammers on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021, and then made his move to the London Stadium a permanent one in 2022 for around £8 million (The Athletic).

Areola was heavily linked with a loan move away from the London Stadium in January in order to salvage his international career.

How 37-year-old Lukasz Fabianski is keeping him out of the team in the Premier League actually blows mind.

And Areola is clearly miffed as well. He took to his Instagram account and posted a cryptic message today:

In my view, that’s an obvious message to David Moyes.

Everything surrounding the Scot is negative at the moment. His playing style, his interviews, the way that he sets up his team so defensively…the list goes on.

Hi refusal to start the 29-year-old Frenchman as our number one goalkeeper in the Premier League instead of the nearly 38-year-old Lukasz Fabianski is actually mind-boggling.

And the Alphonse Areola cryptic Instagram message is evidence that there are rumblings of discontent at the London Stadium.
