David Moyes has a big decision to make after another two goals for incredible West Ham United 18-year-old in 3-2 under-21s thriller.

West Ham under-21s beat Brighton’s youth team 3-2 last night, in a big result that moved us further away from the relegation zone.

The Hammers youngsters endured an absolutely torrid start to their Premier League 2 campaign, and were rock bottom after 11 games having endured nine defeats and secured just two points!

However, six wins in their last eight games have really steadied the ship.

And a key reason for the West Ham under-21’s turnaround has been the incredible form of Divin Mubama

David Moyes has big decision to make with West Ham youngster

Mubama, 18, was at the double for the Hammers under-21s last night during a 3-2 win over Brighton – a result that lifted us up to 10th spot in the Premier League 2 table, five points points clear of the relegation zone.

The young striker has been in absolutely stunning form this season, and he now has 22 goals in 27 games for the under-21’s and the under-18’s to his name.

Mubama is a frightening talent. He recently played a crucial role in helping the youngsters secure their place in the FA Youth Cup semi-final with a goal during our 4-2 win over Ipswich Town last week.

The teenager is strong as an ox, has impressive pace, is a very good finisher and an incredibly hard worker. Mubama really does have everything needed to succeed at the very highest level. The only question now is when he will make the jump up to playing regular first-team football.

David Moyes has a big decision to make in the summer regarding the West Ham striker. Should he keep him at the London Stadium and use him sporadically in cup competitions? Or should he send him out on loan to a Championship club?

In my opinion, a loan move away from the London Stadium would be the best thing for Mubama regarding his development. The 18-year-old needs to play 30-40 games during a season a senior level before we can judge whether he truly has the ability needed to make a difference for West Ham in the Premier League.

Divin Mubama has a really bright future, as do many of the West Ham under-18’s and under-21’s. Let’s hope that David Moyes handles his development correctly and he doesn’t end up being yet another youngster who moves on because of a lack of first-team opportunities.
