Kevin Keen has done a wonderful job in charge of the West Ham under-18s this season.

We have a crop of supremely talented young players at the London Stadium, and Sporting Director Mark Noble recently hinted that the reason why so many of the under-21s have been moved on was so that there was space for the under-18s to come through.

And the young men proved just how good they are last night against Ipswich Town…

West Ham win FA Youth Cup quarter-final

The Hammers trailed twice against Ipswich, in spite of the hosts being down to 10 men after Calum Logan was sent off.

Goals from Gideon Kadua and Callum Marshall took the contest into extra-time at Portman Road, and that’s where the West Ham players came into their own.

West Ham absolutely dominated the FA Youth Cup quarter-final clash with Ipswich in extra-time, with goals from Ryan Battrum and Divin Mubama sealing a 4-2 win for Kevin Keen’s side.

Mubama, 18, has been on fire this season, with 17 goals to his name already (Transfermarkt), and it seems like it’s only a matter of time before he makes the jump up to senior level.

The same can be said for many of his teammates, including the likes of Ollie Scarles, Gideon Kadua, Lewis Orford, Regan Clayton and Callum Marshall.

The future seems to be really, really bright for the Hammers, with a whole host of talented under-18 players coming through the ranks at the London Stadium.

Whether David Moyes is the right man to be trusted with their long-term development is highly debatable though.
