David Moyes absolutely must drop £26 million man for West Ham vs Liverpool clash

David Moyes will surely drop Said Benrahma and bring Pablo Fornals into the side for the West Ham vs Liverpool clash tonight.

Listen, I have absolutely nothing against Said Benrahma, he is one of my favourite West Ham players. In fairness to David Moyes, he has actually been playing him consistently for the Hammers this season as well.

That doesn’t mean that I’m blind to his weaknesses though, and Pablo Fornals definitely deserves a chance to take the Algerian’s place against the Reds.

Moyes brought Benrahma to the London Stadium for around £26 million in 2020 (Daily Mail).

The 27-year-old has been incredibly inconsistent for West Ham, but has showed what he is capable of this season on the whole.

However, his form has deteriorated over the past few weeks, and last week against Gent Moyes was visibly frustrated with the winger on the touchline.

I believe that Benny should sit this one out tonight…

Pablo Fornals must come in for Said Benrahma for West Ham against Liverpool

The Spaniard has had to be really patient since the turn of the year and has barely been given any Premier League minutes by Moyes.

The 27-year-old can think himself really unlucky, and he put in a top-class performance when he came on against Bournemouth on Sunday, scoring the Hammers’ fourth and final goal.

Pablo is undoubtedly deserving of a start against Liverpool tonight, and he really should come into the side in place of Said Benrahma.

We all know that Fornals is not great when deployed out wide left but he could play more narrow in and around Michail Antonio, with Aaron Cresswell or Emerson providing the width on the left flank.

The former Villarreal ace’s passing ability and composure in possession could be pivotal against the Reds tonight.

And lets face it, Benrahma is always a threat when coming off the bench if he is needed, so I think Fornals is far better suited to start tonight’s West Ham vs Liverpool clash.

It’s time for the Spaniard to be given the chance that he really does deserve. Let’s not forget how key he was for us during our 3-2 win over Liverpool at the London Stadium last season as well!

At the same time, Benrahma being taken out of the limelight will probably do him the world of good as well.
