A crazy relegation twist is on the cards as a big claim is made about West Ham survival rivals Leeds overnight.

West Ham remain very much a key player in the battle with the likes of Leeds United to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

With Southampton all but done, it is now two from five to drop including West Ham and Leeds.

Last week we reported on Hammers News that West Ham had received a monumental boost in their bid to stay in the top flight after it emerged Leeds goal threat Luis Sinisterra was out for the season.

Leeds duly lost 4-1 at Bournemouth at the weekend while the Hammers were beaten 4-3 at Palace.

Hammers have four-point gap but are not out of the woods yet

West Ham currently have a four-point gap over Leicester, Leeds and Forest below them and five points on Everton.

The Hammers’ goal difference is also worth a point on Leeds, Forest and Everton meaning the gap is actually more like five and six respectively.

It would take three of the four sides below West Ham to each win two of their remaining four games for David Moyes’ side to be relegated.

That seems highly unlikely. But stranger things have happened so West Ham are not out of the woods yet.

Especially considering West Ham play both Leeds and Leicester to finish the season.

Crazy relegation twist on the cards as big claim is made about West Ham survival rivals Leeds

Now a crazy relegation twist is on the cards as a big claim is made about West Ham survival rivals Leeds overnight.

During coverage of the draw between Leicester and Everton on Monday night, Sky Sports claimed Leeds could be set to sack latest boss Javi Gracia in a bid to get a new manager bounce for the final four matches – one of which is at the London Stadium.

And in a further sub-plot, two former West Ham men – Sam Allardyce and Lee Bowyer – are in the running to take over.

The Mail is also reporting the news, claiming Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani is weighing up sacking Gracia and appointing the club’s third manager of the season ‘in the hope that a new voice can spark the players into life before it is too late’.
